This tune was found in a book of old Scottish tunes dedicated to Lady Erskine in 1742. Italian musician Francesco Barsanti originally from Tuscany collected and arranged the tunes whilst living in Scotland. There is some difference of opinion on the origins of this tune. Some collectors say the tune is derived from a 4/4 version, whilst others say it evolved out of the 3/4 one.

Thanks for the beautiful music Karine and Dave. it's been a while since I've felt so emotional listening to a new album. Every lyric is so beautifully supported by the piano parts. Laura-Beth Salter
